■ステイトメント■
ヤコブの梯子という聖書の中のエピソードがある。
ヤコブという男が野宿をしているとき、夢の中で天から梯子が現れ天使たちが昇り降りする様子を見た、というものだ。
普通これは天国の門のイメージであったり信仰深さを現すエピソードである。
しかし私はこの梯子を"アイデアの降りてくる場所"として感じており、そのイメージがいつも頭の片隅にある。
この展示作品も梯子を降りてきたところを捕まえて描き写したものたちだ。
私が見た断片的な風景の後先やその背景を想像して楽しんでいただけたら幸いである。
There is an episode in the bible called Jacob's ladder.
When a man named Jacob was sleeping in the field,
he had a dream in which he saw ladders from heaven and angels ascending and descending.
This is usually an image of the gate of heaven or an episode of faith.
But I see this ladder as a place where ideas come down,
and that image is always in the back of my mind.
This exhibition is also a image of the scene that I captured when I came down the ladder.
I hope you enjoy imagining the background of the fragmentary landscape I saw.
《圣经》中有一段名为《雅各的梯子》的轶事。
一个叫雅各的男人露宿街头时，在梦中看见天上出现了梯子，天使们爬上爬下。
通常，这是天国之门的形象，是体现信仰深厚的小故事。
但是我觉得这个梯子是“想法下来的地方”，那个印象总是在脑海里。
这次的展览作品也是从梯子下来看到的画面而画下来的。
如果能通过这次展览，去想象我所看到的片断的风景，以及其背景，并乐在其中，那就太好了。
