■ステイトメント■
展覧会タイトルであるDusty Mirrorはシルバーリーフプラントの一種である"Dusty Miller"から着想を得てタイトルとしました。
たまたま立ち寄った園芸店で見つけた葉の表面がきめ細かな毛で覆われたそれはほこりっぽい鏡と誤読してしまうほどに鈍く、
しかし強く光を反照させていました。
「光の形/Shape of Light」という絵のシリーズを起点として、画面内のイメージあるいは絵画そのものが光を反射させること、
そして光を跳ね返させるために画面に物質性を与えることを軸として制作を続けてきました。
光に手触りを感じるように画面を作っていく、そうすることによって画面と鑑賞者、
ひいては鑑賞者と展示空間を明るく照らすことを模索しています。
Dusty Mirror, the title of the exhibition, is a kind of silver leaf plant.
The title was inspired by "Dusty Miller". When I happened to stop by at a gardening store,
the surface of a leaf covered with fine hairs was dull enough to be mistaken for a dusty mirror,
but it reflected light strongly.
Starting from a series of paintings called "Shape of Light",
I have been working on making the images in the paintings or the paintings themselves
reflect the light, and giving the paintings a materiality to reflect the light.
By creating paintings that feel the touch of light, I seek to brightly
illuminate the painting and the viewer, as well as the exhibition space.
展览名称“尘镜”是一种银叶植物。
标题的灵感来自“Dusty Miller”。
当我偶然路过一家园艺商店时，一片长满细毛的叶子表面暗淡得让人误以为是一面布满灰尘的镜子，但反光却很强烈。
从一系列名为“光的形状”的绘画开始，我一直致力于让画中的图像或画本身反射光，
并赋予画以反射光的物质性, 并以此为轴持续创作。
我在摸索能感受到光触感的方式创作，以此来照亮画面和观众，进而照亮展览空间。
