■ステイトメント■
那須を拠点に活動するペインター・agoera。
大学時代にジャンルイジ・トッカフォンドのアニメーション作品と出会ったことをきっかけに絵を描き始めたagoeraは、
リュック・タイマンス、ニコラ・ド・スタール、アントニオ・ロペス・ガルシア、ミヒャエル・ボレマンスといった
画家たちの表現に影響を受けながら、15年以上にわたって制作を続けてきました。
作品の多くは、作家自身の身の回りにある日常のモチーフから生まれています。
一年前、東京から緑豊かな那須へ移住したことにより、描く対象や視点にも変化があらわれたとagoeraは述べています。
四季の移ろいがより肌で感じられるようになった生活の中で、目に映る風景や人々の姿を、静かな眼差しで見つめ直しています。
日々の暮らしの中にあるありふれた風景や人物を、アクリル絵の具を用いて最小限の筆さばきで描き出すことで、
そこに潜む普遍的な感情を静かに浮かび上がらせます。
その描写は、鑑賞者の記憶と呼応し、物語を想起させるような広がりを持っています。
本展タイトル『Gradation in the daily』はそうしたagoeraの感覚のありようを示しています。
捉えがたい感情のゆらぎや、日々の光と影、時の流れをすくいとるような作品の数々が、
私たちの記憶や感覚にどのような余韻を残すのかーー

Painter agoera is based in Nasu, Japan.
He began painting when he was in college after encountering the animated
works of Gianluigi Toccafondo.
He has been painting for more than 15 years, influenced by painters such as Luc Tuymans,
Nicolas De Stael, Antonio López García, and Michael Borremans.
Many of his works are inspired by the motifs of everyday life around him.
He states that his move from Tokyo to the lush greenery of Nasu a year ago
has changed the subject matter and perspective of his paintings.
Now that she is able to experience the changing seasons,
she is able to look at the landscapes and people she sees with a quieter eye.
By depicting ordinary scenes and people in our daily lives with minimal brushstrokes of acrylic paint,
she quietly reveals the universal emotions latent in them.
His depictions have an expansive quality that evokes a story in response to the viewer's memory.
The title of this exhibition,
『Gradation in the daily』 indicates the nature of agora's sensations.
